Deep and slow drifts and swings are rewarded with hard fighting fresh steelhead. Those waterways do seem to be slowly back on the retreat. Widewaters is never drawn-down and is the hot spot for bass this time of year. And that flat downstream water on the Oak is just tougher to fish period except for good float techniques or cast/retrieve. There should be a mix of spawning and staged fish in the holes with fresh fish trickling in anytime. From a small boat, drifting treated egg skein is a good approach to try, fished under a float.
